| What is the DN-III-E Plan? |
![]() SEDENA prepared The Population Relief Plan in Case of Disaster, denominated DN-III-E Plan, it is the Military Operational Plan that establishes general guidelines for the bodies of the Mexican Army and Air Force to perform relief activities for civil population affected by any kind of disaster.
This Plan was prepared in 1966 to respond to the River Panuco overflow, since then it has been regularly applied. Its denomination was established in the above mentioned year, since it was included into the National Defense Plan as Annex “E” although in subsequent revisions of the Defense Plan there has been the option to change its name, the Higher Command (Secretary of Defense), decided to continue referring it as “PLAN DN-III-E”, since it is already identified as such by civil authorities, the media and population as a whole. Military participation applying the DN-III-E Plan is intended to respond to both natural and anthropogenic phenomena. The main ones are the following: GEOLOGICAL PHENOMENA
