The acquisitions of National Defense Secretariat are not to carry out politic espionage.

In relation with the information broadcasted by some means of communication about contracts made by the National Defense Secretariat with the company Tracking Devices, for the acquisition of different equipment and materials, this secretariat informs the public the following:

The budget given to this secretariat is subject to the current regulations and it is directed to meet the necessities of the Mexican Army an Air Force for the accomplishment of assigned legal missions.

The acquisitions through direct adjudication mentioned in such means of communication were made observing the law and are part of the projects this secretariat materializes for the modernization of this armed organizations, allowing us to use state of the art in technological advances and to have adequate tools which are necessary to accomplish all mission in an integral manner for the sake of the Mexican people.

The equipment and material acquired is sent to the different bodies of this secretariat to help with the performance of their lawful roles, they are not at the disposal of "high commands" to carry out politic espionage as it was erroneously expressed by some means of communication.

Furthermore, the National Defense Secretariat ratifies that the procedure for the acquisition of such equipment and material was conducted following the current regulations and we categorically deny that such acquisitions were made with the purpose of carrying illegal activities.
